THE YEAR OF THE STAYCATION

26 August 2020

2020. What. A. Year.

As the majority of you, I had planned to go on holiday (specifically somewhere where you would have to go on a plane to get to!) but this year had other plans for us all. So instead, we opted for a staycation, and stayed closer to home. Wales to be exact.
(Note: We followed all social distancing guidelines and wore masks when appropriate.)

We headed to Rhossili, a small village in the Gower Peninsula in Swansea. This is where you can come and explore a place called 'Worms Head' (which is what I'm staring out in the distance at!). The Worms Head is a rock causeway which links a small island to the mainland. The name originally comes from the Norse word 'Wurme', which means dragon or serpent. Apparently, the Vikings thought it was a sleeping dragon because of its shape (A lil bit of history for you!).

It is a very tricky hike across the rocks, so I would recommend bringing suitable footwear (preferably walking boots!) and snacks and water because it does take a couple hours there and back! Also if you do plan to come here, you have to take in account the tide, as there is certain times it goes out and you'll be able to walk across.

Now... on to the next day where I give you major twilight vibes! We decided to venture out to what is known as the waterfall county (Brecon Beacons). This was definitely my fave thing to do, walking in the forests and seeing the waterfalls - would defo recommend!! (However a tip if you do decide to come here, you have to come early to get a parking space as they have very limited car parks).

Hope you enjoyed! Check out my Instagram where I'll post more pics and videos :)
